Help us use technology to make a big green dent in the universe!

Kraken powers some of the most innovative global developments in energy.

We create the technology that redefines utilities and unlocks a new energy system of the future. By optimising renewable generation, building a more intelligent grid, and empowering utilities to deliver an exceptional customer experience, our operating system is transforming the industry worldwide.

It’s an incredibly exciting time to work in energy. Join us on our mission to improve the lives of ONE BILLION humans within the decade and shape a cleaner, better future for everyone.

About the role

Kraken Solution Consultants help energy companies understand what is possible when brilliant technology, deep industry knowledge and a better operating model come together.

This role sits at the heart of our growth across Asia-Pacific and leads on opportunities spanning both Kraken Distribution and Kraken Customer. Kraken Distribution is the platform for electricity distribution businesses and network operators, covering meter data management, connection point authority (including distributed energy resources), and network billing. Kraken Customer is our market-leading platform for energy retailers, spanning CIS, billing, metering, MDM, CRM and customer communications. You’ll move fluently between these two worlds, shaping engagements that often bring them together.

You’ll bring strong energy-industry experience, curiosity about technology, and the ability to connect client needs to practical Kraken solutions. You’ll be confident discussing network operations, customer operations, system landscapes and how platforms fit together — without losing sight of the people and processes behind them.

This role is ideal for a creative problem solver: someone who listens, asks sharp questions, simplifies complexity and helps clients see how Kraken can support real business change. Because APAC is a diverse, fast-moving region, you’ll be comfortable working across markets, time zones and regulatory contexts.

This isn’t a surface-level role. You’ll get deep into the functional capabilities of the platform — configuring, testing and pressure-testing scenarios yourself — until you hold an intimate, working understanding of how Kraken actually solves a client’s problem, not just how it demos.

About the team

We are a global team, organised regionally so we can focus deeply on each market while supporting each other across borders. In APAC that means working closely with colleagues across Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the wider region.

We bring different backgrounds, strengths and perspectives, and work best when people bring their personality, judgement, experience and energy — and get stuck in.

What you’ll do

  • Lead solution consulting on APAC opportunities across Kraken Distribution and Kraken Customer, working with Sales leadership to qualify opportunities and establish the Kraken engagement strategy.

  • Build trust with prospective and existing clients — including distribution businesses, network operators and energy retailers — helping them understand Kraken and what it could mean for their business.

  • Lead discovery sessions and workshops to understand client operations, pain points, requirements, risks and goals across both network and customer domains.

  • Deliver product demos and workshops that show how Kraken solves real challenges in the energy market, from distribution network services and meter data to retail customer operations.

  • Get hands-on with the product to build genuine functional depth — working through the platform yourself, exploring edge cases and configurations, so you can speak to real capability with authority rather than at a high level.

  • Explain complex concepts simply, tailoring your message for executives, architects, analysts, product owners, operations teams and subject matter experts.

  • Respond to functional and technical questions, bringing in product and engineering colleagues where needed.

  • Own RFPs, proposals, presentations and other sales collateral, especially around functional, solution and technical content.

  • Partner with sales, marketing, product, engineering and delivery teams to share client insight and influence product direction.

  • Stay close to Kraken’s roadmap and product strategy across both Distribution and Customer so you can represent the platform confidently and accurately.

What you’ll need

  • Experience working with distribution companies or network operators in a delivery or implementation capacity — you understand how distribution businesses operate and what it takes to deliver technology change for them.

  • Strong understanding of energy industry systems, ideally across both the network/distribution domain (e.g. meter data management, connection point / market data, network field services, distributed energy resources) and the retail/customer domain (CIS, billing, metering, MDM, CRM, customer communications).

  • Genuine curiosity and the ability to ask sharp questions that unpack how clients work today, where the pain points are and what they need from Kraken.

  • A genuine appetite to get into the weeds. You enjoy going deep on functional detail, rolling your sleeves up in the product, and building an intimate understanding of how the solution works and where its edges are — and you can then translate that depth into clear, business-relevant conversations.

  • The judgement to know how deep to go — technical and functional enough to earn credibility with architects, analysts and operations teams, while always framing the detail around client outcomes.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a knack for making complicated things feel clear.

  • Openness and the ability to learn quickly and independently. Kraken moves fast, and the product does too.

  • A resourceful, adaptable approach — you find a way through rather than waiting for someone to hand you a perfect process.

  • Strong organisational skills across multiple deals, workshops, deadlines and client conversations.

  • Comfort operating across APAC markets and time zones, with flexibility to travel as needed to support sales efforts.

Even better if you have

  • Hands-on delivery or implementation experience with electricity distribution businesses / DNOs / DSOs — for example in network field services, meter data, connections, or DER management.

  • Experience in SaaS, solution consulting, pre-sales, implementation, business analysis or systems transformation in the energy industry.

  • Hands-on experience with network billing, metering, CIS, CRM, customer operations or customer communications platforms.

  • Familiarity with APAC energy markets and regulatory environments (e.g. Australia’s NEM).

  • Experience working with product and engineering teams to turn customer feedback into better product outcomes.
